This piece of propaganda is an example of the name calling technique because it calls the Axis leaders "pigs"--not exactly the most flattering label, in an effort to damage the opponent. Name-calling is exactly what it sounds like; calling the other side names so profusely that the audience begins to believe it and look at the opponents that way. This poster represents the Axis powers, Germany, Italy and Japan as pigs, with the words “No pork until these pigs are killed”. By labelling the Axis as pigs, the creators of this poster are smearing them and portraying them in an unfavorable light. The purpose of that would be to rally the Allies into one cause, setting up an us vs. the pigs fight where it is easy to identify which one the better side is, as the competition looks so despicable.
